One of the highest abrasion suedes on the market today, AX Suede can withstand the constant friction of a multitude of activities. This suede also resists water uptake making it less moisture absorbent, improving the control you have

  • Downtek™ Water Repellent Down. Down clusters are designed to trap pockets of air, these pockets are what insulate, keeping you warm and comfortable. With standard down moisture comes along and deflates the pockets of air, eliminating down's ability to insulate. DownTek™ shields those insulating-air-trapping-clusters from all wet things, allowing the down to retain its ability to loft and insulate even when wet

Waterproof Extreme Cold Weather Down Mitten is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very warm, but smaller than I'd hoped. I get cold hands. It's not good, given I like walking to the top of very high things. The challenge I've had is a layering approach needs liner gloves, mid-gloves and then a good outer mitten. I was really hoping these would go over some other Sealskinz gloves I have and they simply don't. That said, there's still plenty of room for a liner glove and a chemical hand warmer but it wasn't quite what I was hoping for.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too small Bought the biggest size available using the size chart provided. They looked like lovely gloves but just too tight across the palm - not good for warmth or comfort. V difficult to put on and remove. Very disappointed to have to return them

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good I've worn them several times riding to and from work at just below zero and they have kept my hands warm. Bit if a faff getting them on. They should get a proper test later this week if the snow comes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cold Busters! Bought these for my daily road bike commute. At 5am in those cold frosty winter months the best cycling gloves I could buy simply didnt do the job. Fortunately so far the winter has been more wet than cold however these have had three run outs so far going down to windchill of -5 degrees and so far done the business and prevented ice cold numb fingers. These mitts are are actually quite light and not bulky and do feel like there made of quality materials. Note I have worn some thin cycling inner gloves as well although I'm not sure they are fully necessary. So its five stars for what appears to be a top quality product from Sealskinz.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product Great for cycling in the cold, really warm. As other reviews have said, they're sized very small. I've got small hands and the mediums are snug.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good Bought these & went straight up Kilimanjaro with them. Had very bad conditions & my hands started to get cold due to the severity of the weather, so used a liner glove with them & had no issues. Hands stayed dry throughout, would definitely recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good warm mittens I bought these to replace a similar pair of Sealskinz mittens that had warn through (unsurprisingly, given the use they got). I have hands that are very sensitive to the cold, and these are great for cycling (although I still need to insert handwarmers when it is actually below zero Celsius). The outside is softer than the previous version, but I have no reason to believe that they will be less hard-wearing for it. It also makes them take up a little less space when storing them. They are also missing the "visor wipe" material on the thumbs that the previous version had, which was sometimes useful in the rain, but it's not essential for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very warm Just home from 10 days in Canada and with a temperature range from -5 to -15, I never had cold hands. There is a loss of dexterity compared to gloves but this was never really a problem whilst skiing and found that I needed liners on when I went back to my previous gloves on one day for old times sake. Well made and comfortable. I would definitely go up one size to get the right fit. Outstanding service from Jeanette in Customer Service to make sure we were happy. Great job all round.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sub Zero Mittens Bought these for a trek up Mt Toubkal, just for the walking and lower slopes not for standing around. I didn't find them that warm to be honest and was glad I had my Black Diamonds ready for the top. I didn't expect them to be heavy duty but thought they'd be better than they were. Also quite small for 'large' size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Effective Cold Beaters In searching for a water and windproof mitten effective against bitter cold, and as someone with chronically chilled-to-frozen fingers, I was pleased with these light weight attractive mittens that are the best solution I've encountered to date for keeping hands warm in bitter cold. They're a bit difficult to put on, given that the liner seems to twist and bunch. This is what keeps me from a 5-star rating. But once on, they absolutely work in the cold department.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it says on the tin.... I am happy (I gave 5 stars), for the normal crowd, they are perfect. Alas, I am in a currently un-serviced group though, I’m disabled, Multiple Sclerosis. I would love to have nice big tags/hoops to aid pulling the mittens on. With the help from a second person, they fit on well & do a perfect job. Note:- I am considering getting them adapted with an eyelet in each cuff, so I can put a thumb sized keyring on each mitten… :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good mittens, first pair faulty! The first pair ordered had a hole in the lining and had to be returned, the second pair where fine, and keep my hands very warm in cold weather. Check sizing before ordering as you will need a larger size than suggested. Quality control needs improving!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very effective I suffer from reynauds condition and playing golf in cold weather is a real problem, the end of my fingers are white and so cold that gripping the club with no feeling in the fingers really does not help holding the club. I have used the Sealskinz gloves for 3 rounds of golf, during the latest spell of cold weather, using little hotties hand warmers inside and the difference from other golf mittens I have used in the past is measurable. I only wear a small size golf gloves so I originally ordered a large in the Sealskinz thinking that I would be able to fit it over my hand, not so, after several changes of size that the company were more than helpful with I settled on an extra large, even though this would still not fit over my hand with the golf glove on. I now realise that it is no big problem removing the golf glove after each shot before putting on my Sealskinz glove.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Mitts I've given these 5 stars because they are excellent mitts. However, what I would say is that Sealskinz need to look at their sizing/sizes, because my knuckles measure 8 inches, which according to the chart would be a small. Having had Sealskinz mitts before, I knew that even a Large would not be big enough and so I ordered an XL pair. They were also to small for my purposes, and I needed to return them and swap for a XXL?! I think the mitts need a bit more room in them, but other than that, they're great.
