In 2009 Double Olympic gold medallist James Cracknell, TV presenter Ben Fogle and Doctor Ed Coats competed in a 500 mile cross country skiing race across Antartica to the South Pole for the TV show 'On Thin Ice'.

Row 2 Rio is the brain child of four extreme athletes, Mel Parker, Susannah Cass, Jake Heath and Johnny Keevil. Inspired by the 2016 Olympic Games, their aim was to complete a never-done-before 7000 mile route starting in London and ending in Rio, using only human power!
