The 2016 year, so far, has got off to a great start, getting consistent top 3 stage results as well as winning stages 1 and 2 at Round 1 of the British Enduro Series.
All down to good training in the off season and being all wrapped up in Sealskinz in the tough Scottish winter!
My bike shop is now open, called Xtreme Bikes, so as well as racing I have been putting in just as much effort into building up the shop and getting things happening in there. We also have a full time mechanic with over 10 years of experience so the staff in the shop including myself have a great skill set.
I spent some time in Greece at the start of the year to ride in some dry conditions and just boost the feel good factor on the bike as well as doing a little coaching whilst out there. Raced a few races in between trips abroad before the season properly gets underway and things start to get a lot more serious.
I have just got back from Italy, where I spent a long weekend riding in some lovely dry warm conditions in the mountains but surprisingly I needed my Sealskinz on one of the days as it was freezing!
Got my first podium of the year at Fort William Scottish Enduro Series Round 2, after having good practice on Saturday I felt up to the task on Sunday. There were some top racers there in the Elite category so it made the 2nd place podium all that little bit sweeter.
